December 5, 2015: The joy of giving.
by littlemissfuneral
I love giving gifts. It’s one of my favorite things about the holidays. I love going to the mall during this season and seeing all of the decorations and lights. I love getting a peppermint flavored coffee as I stroll hand in hand with my husband window shopping.
I love finding the perfect present for my family and friends. I love the joy in their faces as they receive the gift. The world needs more of that. Joy.
No matter how much I wish I could drastically change the world and spread happiness to others on a mass level, I understand that it may be a tad unrealistic. So I’ll be thankful that I can spread joy to those close to me and maybe to the random person I pass by. Whether it’s holding a door open or buying someone a cup of coffee, I want to be a light for them this holiday season. After all, gifts don’t always come in the form of a physical item. Sometimes a smile does just fine.
I very much appreciate the thought behind this. In my own life, the most joy comes from not material items, but whatever it is that makes me happy…music, family, close friends, good books…the list goes on and on.
I truly wish that more people would open their eyes to the world around them and find true happiness and pure bliss for themselves. Life can be so difficult but as I learned when I lost my dad, even when you lose someone close to you…there is still the joy of all the fond memories you had with them to be found.
So pleased that you’re blogging again.
I feel the same way! Merry Christmas to you. ♥
