As 2014 comes to a close I feel an urge to revisit my year.
This past year has been one that I have been anticipating for a while now. You see, about four years ago, (long before we were even engaged) my (now) husband and I decided that we would get married on June 14, 2014 (being that our number is 14, it only made sense). It’s kind of funny how that worked out. In one way, this has been the best year of my life. Life is worth living because of the love and support we have with the people around us and I get to do this journey with my best friend.
On the other hand, this has been one of the worst years of my life. My fur baby Bandit passed away, my grandmother gave our family some scares that resulted in her being admitted to the hospital and having surgery and my family lost a beloved family friend very suddenly.
All over the internet I see people post New Year Resolutions and I have a few myself. I want to be happy. I want to look on the bright side even when life throws me curve balls. I want to laugh with my husband and spend time with my family. I want to love and do my best. I want to be a better funeral director.
And I really want to get rid of this cold I currently have.
Happy New Years. May God bless you, always.
